When I told my family that Laura and I were starting a pajamas business for hot flashes and night sweats they were as cordial as they could be on the outside; while scratching their heads on the inside. You see I’m a fashion-challenged, risk-averse, non-seamstress, marketing type. I get my lack of seamstress skills honestly. Unlike Laura’s mom who handmade her clothes, my mom’s idea of hemming my pants was to “roll them up.” And for special occasions she’d reluctantly use that hemming tape, Stitch Witchery, and an iron. Tips for a better night's sleep for perimenopausal women

Once upon a time I could go to bed and fall asleep within about 30 seconds of my head hitting the pillow. I could sleep a blissful eight or nine hours a night. Pre-children, I could sleep well into the afternoon. Those were the days. Fast-forward to my late 40s, and sleep was harder to find than 10 minutes to myself without a child or client or husband hollering in my ear. Now as a 50-something, if I get three hours of uninterrupted sleep, I feel like a winner of the sleep wars. Try ambien, friends would say. You need some melatonin. Lunesta. Magnesium. Pot. Everyone has a suggestion of what works. Here's the thing, I don't like to take medication....

Night sweats lead to sleepwear for hot flashes

Today is the 1-year-anniversary of an idea to create sleepwear for women suffering from night sweats. It's also the day we're taking pre-orders for pajamas that we've been designing and perfecting over the last 365 days. Welcome to CoolRevolution, Sleepwear with Life's Changes in Mind.  This has been a personal journey. On March 12, 2018, I woke up after a frustrating night's sleep that was interrupted by chills, sweating and my husband's snoring. I did what most women would do, I complained in a text message to my best friends.
