Oct. 18 is World Menopause Day, and we're celebrating

World Menopause Day was created to raise awareness of midlife women's World Menopause Dayhealth, and it's celebrated each year on Oct. 18. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by getting you answers to your burning questions about perimenopause and menopause, raising money to help increase awareness and collecting supplies to help women in need.

Here are all the details of how you can join us on Oct. 18:

Get answers to your questions live and online

Janet Carpenter, researcher at IU School of NursingMenopause expert Janet Carpenter, from Indiana University School of Nursing will be taking  questions every 15 minutes at Books & Brews (9402 Uptown Dr., Fishers) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Indianapolis Star reporter, Dana Benbow, will moderate. You can submit your questions in advance to info@coolrevolutionpjs.com. We’ll also be streaming live during the event, so watch for updates on Facebook for more details on how you can participate from your big, comfy couch! (See how hot flashes happen.)

Drink up, and help us raise money for Hot Flashes? Cool!

HotFlashes? Cool! exhibit by Indiana University School of NursingJanet Carpenter not only has been a great resource as we designed CoolRevolution PJs, but she’s working to help educate the world about menopause through a creative, unique art exhibit called Hot Flashes! Cool! (See more about this exhibit) She will display a couple of pieces of this new exhibit during the event. Plus, for every beer you buy, Books & Brews will donate $1 toward this art-infused menopause exhibit.

Donate tampons to women in need

TamponsWe may grumble at the cost of having periods when we buy tampons, maxi pads and Midol, but for many women, these are luxury items they often do without. CoolRevolution is teaming up with Family Promise, a national nonprofit that helps homeless and low-income families achieve independence, to help provide feminine hygiene products. Here’s how you can donate:

  • Bring supplies with you from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 18
  • Drop off feminine hygiene products at Books & Brews from 11 a.m. until midnight at the Mothership location, 9402 Uptown Dr., Fishers.
  • Donate feminine hygiene products to any Family Promise location, find a location near you
  • Donate supplies to a shelter or local pantry near you.

Try on pajamas

CoolRevolution PJsOf course, we’ll have cooling pajamas for you to touch, feel and try on. Already have CoolRevolution PJs? Wear yours, we’re not going to judge, and no one at Books & Brews with either!
